Dr. Barbara O'Shea is committed to ensuring that South Brisbane remains a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community for all residents. Community safety is a priority that encompasses many aspects of our daily lives, from crime prevention to emergency preparedness.
Barbara's Approach to Community Safety
Barbara believes that effective community safety requires:
- Collaboration between residents, businesses, community organisations, and government agencies
- Evidence-based approaches that address the root causes of crime and antisocial behaviour
- Investment in prevention and early intervention programmes
- Support for vulnerable community members
- Appropriate resources for emergency services and first responders
Current Safety Initiatives
Barbara is currently advocating for:
